Meaning Loud

Born in the middle of a party her grandfather was throwing, M.J. Bayomba was named Bayomba because at the time of her birth it was loud. M.J Bayomba was a teacher, community leader, mother and grandmother. A woman who supported women and those who had been abandoned. When she gave up teaching to raise her family, she took up running a bakery and restaurant and started a savings group for impoverished women in her area. Bayomba is inspired by the person it is named after, to create a legacy that lifts women up. When her first grandchild was to be born outside of Uganda (me) her hope was that child would one day call Uganda home. Bayomba is my way home.
